Aretha Iidea

Aretha was born in Ontario, Canada. She is of Puerto Rican, African American, and German descent. At 12 years old, Aretha began to be represented by the same talent agent as her friend Allison Roth, who had moved to London to pursue modeling. Aretha appeared in commercials for school clothes as a child, but her first significant acting job was at age 14 when she appeared as Ally May At the Devil’s Door in 2014. The film received positive reviews and high ratings initially. Between 2014 and 2016, she had small roles in Bad Teacher, You’re the Worst, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Cooties, Zombieworld and The Edge of Seventeen. In 2016, she made an appearance on The Get Down, but she was brought back to work on further episodes throughout the season.
