Sanya is a trucker who combines his main job with stealing cars. He and his wife Anya are expecting the birth of a child any day now. Suddenly, Sanya receives an urgent order: the hijacking of a "Gele...ndwagen" (or simply "Gelya"). And for the sake of a comfortable future for his family, he agrees, promising his wife to be in time for childbirth.
